POSITION SUMMARY
Our client, Arris Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support and grow its Wetumpka / Montgomery operations. This role is intended for an experienced, well-rounded construction PM who can independently manage general construction and mechanical scopes, support local clients, and help stabilize and mentor a growing regional team.
This is not a siloed “GC PM” or “Mechanical PM” role. Our client is intentionally moving toward all-encompassing Project Managers who can flex across project types based on business demand.
Key Responsibilities
Manage projects from preconstruction through closeout across general construction and mechanical scopes
Serve as a local project leader for Wetumpka-Montgomery area work, with consistent physical presence
Lead budgets, schedules, cost forecasting, billing, and change management
Interface directly with local clients, subcontractors, and vendors
Identify additional work opportunities through strong execution and relationships (not formal sales)
Mentor and support junior Project Managers and PM Assistants
Operate with minimal day-to-day oversight; integrate quickly into our client’s systems and culture
Support national account or emergency work only as needed, not as the core focus
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
Background managing commercial construction projects (both GC and mechanical projects, ground-up, remodel, or infrastructure).
8–15+ years of construction project management experience
Familiarity with the Wetumpka / Montgomery regional market strongly preferred
Comfortable acting as a “local face” of the company
Practical, execution-oriented, and comfortable making decisions independently
Experience mentoring junior staff or stabilizing a growing office is a plus
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in the $500K–$5M+ range.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with Procure, Computer Ease, Microsoft Excel and Smartsheet; familiarity with project management and estimating tools.
Working knowledge of construction contracts, submittal workflows, and scheduling.
Strong understanding of safety, quality control, and subcontractor management.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Exceptional communication, organization, and leadership abilities.
Collaborative, hands-on approach with the ability to manage both people and processes.
Demonstrated success in maintaining positive client relationships under demanding deadlines.

Work Environment
Location: Wetumpka, AL Offices
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Full-time, exempt)
Travel: Approximately 10–20% (occasional site visits and client meetings)
